WASHINGTON (AA) - A deadly fire that tore through a row house in Philadelphia, in the US state of Pennsylvania, has left 13 people dead, fire officials said on Wednesday, according to local media reports.
Two other people remain in critical condition, according to Philadelphia 10, a local NBC television affiliate.
The Philadelphia Fire Department said on Twitter that it responded to a call of a fire at the site at 6:40 a.m. local time (1140 GMT), and were able to bring the fire under control within 50 minutes.
Television footage from the scene appears to indicate the fire has been extinguished.
Officials are expected to brief the media Wednesday morning.
