SIVAS, Turkey (AA) - At least 137 undocumented migrants were held in central Turkey, a security source said Thursday.
In Sivas province, security forces held a bus with the migrants during a road check along the Sivas-Erzincan highway, the source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity due to restriction on speaking to the media.
They included 107 Afghans, 23 Pakistanis, four Bangladeshis and three Eritrean nationals.
The bus driver was arrested while the migrants who illegally entered Turkey were referred to the provincial migration authorities.
Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
