2 dead in motorcycle bomb attack on military facility in Colombia

5 also wounded in attack at entrance of 21st Infantry Battalion in town of Granada

BOGOTA, Colombia (AA) – An attack in central Colombia using an explosives-laden motorcycle has killed at least two people, including a civilian, local sources said Wednesday.

Five people were also wounded when the motorcycle was detonated at the entrance of the 21st Infantry Battalion in the town of Granada in the Meta administrative region.

Granada Mayor Fredy Hernan Perez announced that a curfew will be imposed in the town.

All measures to ensure the security of residents will be taken, he added.

Colombian Defense Minister Diego Molano said on Twitter that they will respond to the attack strongly and the perpetrators will be caught.

He also called on all citizens to “support the public force.”
