2 Indian troops killed by suspected separatists

Several others wounded during encounter in northeastern India, military says

GUWAHTI, India (AA) - Two Indian soldiers were killed in an encounter with suspected separatist terrorists along the border of the northeastern states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday morning, a defense official said.
"So far we can confirm two deaths. Several others were wounded during the encounter," Defense Ministry spokesman Lt. Col. Suneet Newton told Anadolu Agency.
United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) and CoreCom, a conglomerate of six armed groups including United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have issued a joint statement claiming responsibility for the attack.
Security forces have started counter-insurgency operations, Assam Director General of Police Mukesh Sahay was quoted as saying by the local IANS news agency.
Last November, three Indian soldiers were killed in a similar fashion in the same region.
