2 killed in goldmine explosion in eastern China

ANKARA (AA) - At least two workers are dead and four others are missing on Wednesday after a fire broke out in a gold mine in eastern China, according to state media.

The fire broke out as workers were repairing facilities at the Caojiawa Gold Mine, located in the city of Zhaoyuan, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Four workers were rescued, while four others still are missing.

On Jan. 10, at least 22 miners were trapped in a goldmine explosion in Qixia, eastern China's Shandong province. Eleven of them were rescued while ten were confirmed dead, with one still missing.
