2 Palestinians killed by Israeli gunfire in West Bank

JERUSALEM (AA) – Two Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces opened fire on residents of a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, witnesses said late Sunday.

The Palestinians were transported to the emergency room, according to information from Jenin State Hospital.

Despite all the efforts, they could not be saved.

Witnesses said a conflict broke out between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp in the north of the West Bank.

Israeli soldiers were reported to have used tear gas as well as live bullets.

From the start of this year until July 26, Israel killed 48 Palestinians and wounded more than 11,000 in the West Bank, according to figures from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
