Suspects accused of spreading terrorist propaganda on social media, say sources

By Mustafa Degirmencioglu

DENIZLI, Turkey (AA) – Security forces arrested two people in southwestern Turkey for their alleged links to the terror group PKK, judicial sources said Monday.

As part of an investigation carried out by the prosecutors in the Denizli province, anti-terror police launched an operation to nab the two people, who were accused of spreading terrorist propaganda on social media, said the sources on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

With suspects arrested, some digital materials were also seized, sources added.

In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
