2 pro-Haftar fighters killed in southern Libya: Sources
Gunmen attack Haftar-held base in Libya’s south-central city of Ubari, local security source says

TRIPOLI (AA) - At least two fighters loyal to military commander Khalifa Haftar were killed Thursday by unidentified attackers in south-central Libya, according to a local medical source.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Tindi military base, which was captured by pro-Haftar forces late Wednesday night, in the city of Ubari.
Mansur al-Jundi, director of Ubari’s main hospital, confirmed to Anadolu Agency that the hospital had received the bodies of two slain pro-Haftar fighters.
Earlier Thursday, a local security source told Anadolu Agency that gunmen -- whose affiliations remain unclear -- had staged a dawn attack on the Tindi base.
Libya has been beset by turmoil since 2011, when a bloody NATO-backed uprising led to the ouster and death of President Muammar Gaddafi after more than four decades in power.
Since then, Libya’s stark political divisions have yielded two rival seats of power -- one in Tobruk (to which Haftar is affiliated) and another in Tripoli -- along with a host of armed groups of dubious loyalties.
