2 suicide bombers carried out Gaza attacks: Ministry

Hamas-run Interior Ministry in Gaza says all details will be unveiled once investigation is completed

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Two suicide bombers killed three policemen and wounded two others in Gaza City on Tuesday night, Gaza's Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Two people blew themselves up at two police checkpoints in Gaza last night," Iyad al-Bazam, a spokesman for the ministry, told the Hamas-run Al-Aqsa TV channel.

The spokesman said those behind the attacks had mutual goals with the "Israel to undermine stability of security in the Gaza Strip".

He said that the Interior Ministry -- run by Hamas -- will announce "all details of the criminal event to the public once the investigation is completed".

Early Wednesday, the Interior Ministry announced the killing of three police officers and the wounding of three others after separate bombings targeted two police checkpoints west of Gaza City late Tuesday evening.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts.
