2 water polo athletes killed in Turkish earthquakes
Turkish water polo federation confirms deaths of Mert Aksoy, Ali Arda Akincilar

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish water polo athletes Mert Aksoy and Ali Arda Akincilar were confirmed Thursday to have been killed in two major earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye last week.
Türkiye's water polo federation said the players from Hatay Buyuksehir Belediye Sports Club were killed and Akincilar's family also died as it offered condolences.
More than 36,000 people have been killed in the earthquakes that jolted Türkiye on Feb. 6, according to the country's disaster agency.
