3 far-left TKP/ML terrorists nabbed in eastern Turkey

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish security forces apprehended three far-left TKP/ML terrorists in east of the country, the Interior Ministry said Wednesday.

In a written statement, the ministry said three terrorists and one suspect allegedly aiding the terror group were nabbed in eastern Malatya province on Aug. 24 after gendarmerie forces backed by drones chased a vehicle carrying them.

One of the terrorists is accused of being a senior member of TIKKO, an armed wing of TKP/ML terror group, as well as being involved in the 2015 armed attacks on a Turkish army post in the eastern Tunceli province.

Another terrorist was involved in the 2017 and 2018 hand-made bomb attacks which martyred one Turkish soldier and injured another in Tunceli.

This terrorist was also playing an active role in TIKKO in the rural areas of Tunceli province, the statement said.
