3 PKK terrorists neutralized in eastern Turkey

BINGOL / VAN, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces on Thursday neutralized three PKK terrorists in eastern Turkey and seized arms used by the group, according to local governor’s office.

Gendarmerie teams in the eastern province of Van neutralized the PKK members, said a statement by the governor’s office.

A fourth suspected PKK member is still being sought, the statement added.

Turkish authorities use the term “neutralize” to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Separately, in rural areas of Genc in the eastern Bingol district, a cache of arms, ammunition, and other materials belonging to the terror group were seized, said the governor’s office.

The materials were destroyed at the scene, the office added.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union – has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
