KILIS, Turkey (AA) - Three rockets fired from Daesh-controlled territory in Syria hit the city center of Turkey’s southeastern border province of Kilis Saturday.

According to an Anadolu Agency correspondent present at the scene, one of the rockets hit Kilis State Hospital and two others fell into an empty field and an olive grove close to the tomb of Seyh Muhammet Bedevi.

A fire which broke out in the olive grove was extinguished by firefighters.

One civilian was slightly injured, Kilis’ governor said in a statement.

The Turkish General Staff announced that following the attack, two Daesh gun positions were destroyed and a number of Daesh militants neutralized with retaliatory fire, according to preliminary reports.

Kilis lies six kilometers (four miles) from the Syrian border.

Turkish towns and provinces have been repeatedly struck by fire from across the frontier since mid-January.
