One soldier in critical condition after PKK terrorist group hits military vehicle in southeastern Hakkari province
By Yilmaz Kazandioglu
HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - The PKK terrorist group attacked a military vehicle in southeastern Turkey Sunday, injuring four security forces, said a military source.
PKK terrorists targeted the vehicle with a rocket-propelled grenade in the Cukurca district of the Hakkari province, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
Three soldiers and one village guard were hospitalized at Hakkari State Hospital, with one in critical condition, the source added.
A counter-terror operation against the PKK terrorist group was launched in the area.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
