ANKARA (AA) – At least 41 suspects were arrested Saturday for their links to the PKK and Daesh terror groups in counter-terror operations across Turkey.
Police arrested nine PKK suspects in simultaneous raids in several districts of Istanbul, acting on intelligence that the suspects were planning terror attacks on Nov. 27 to mark the anniversary of the terror group’s foundation in 1978.
Several documents, a weapon, and ammunition were also seized during the operations.
Separately, police arrested 12 PKK suspects in the eastern Van province as part of a counter-terrorism operation across the province.
In the southern Hatay province, 10 PKK suspects were arrested in Antakya, Iskenderun, and Dortyol.
The suspects were accused of spreading terrorist propaganda on social media platforms.
Ten more suspects were also arrested for their links to the Daesh terror group in Hatay on charges of having links to active Daesh members in Syria.
