6.4 magnitude earthquake shakes Philippines
Earthquake hits north of capital Manila, no casualties reported yet

ANKARA (AA) - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck the Philippines, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Monday.
The epicenter of the earthquake was the Gutad city, about 100 kilometers (around 62 miles) north of the capital city of Manila, the USGS scientific agency said.
The earthquake that occurred at a shallow depth of 40 kilometers (some 25 miles) caused panic in Manila, while some hotels and shopping centers have been evacuated.
No casualties have been reported yet.
Founded in 1879, the USGS is one of the largest water, earth, and biological science and civilian mapping agencies in the U.S.
