NEVSEHIR, Turkey (AA) - At least six irregular migrants were held in the central Turkish province of Nevsehir on Wednesday, security sources said.
Turkish police stopped a vehicle in the Derinkuyu district of Nevsehir, and held the Syrian nationals. They were then referred to the provincial migration office.
The driver identified only by the initials A.E.I., also a Syrian national, was detained but later released on judicial control.
Turkey has been a key transit point for asylum seekers aiming to cross into Europe to start new lives, especially those fleeing war and persecution.
