6th International Silk Road Film award held in Istanbul

Iranian director Leila Noroozi wins 'Best Director Award' in ceremony

ISTANBUL (AA) - The 6th International Silk Road Film Awards were held in Istanbul on Tuesday.

The ceremony was organized by the Association of Film Directors, Writers and Composers (SETEM) and supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Cinema.

The "Best Director Award" was presented to Iran's Leila Noroozi, who joined the festival with "The Black Way" movie.

In the international category, Allaith Hajjo from Syria won the "Best Fiction Movie" category with "The Cord" movie, while Ram Prasad Mandal from India received the "Best Scenario Award" for the movie "Beggars".

Ilgiz Sherniyaz from Kyrgyzstan won the "Best Documentary Award" for his movie "Heritage".

The movie "Blue Tomorrow" by Numan Ayaz was winner of the "Best Animation Award".

Some 3,058 movies from Turkey, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Syria, India, Iraq, Greece, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan were showcased in the film festival.

"The Black Way" and "Plak" were screened at the ceremony.
