KILIS, Turkey (AA) - Seven wounded Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters were brought to a hospital in southern Turkey, a security source said Tuesday.

According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to media, the fighters were injured in clashes with Daesh terrorists as part of Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria.

The clashes took place in Cobanbey town of the northwestern Aleppo province, and the wounded fighters were taken to a state hospital in southern Kilis province, said the source.

Several of the injured are in critical condition.

Since the launch of Operation Euphrates Shield on Aug.24, Turkey has backed FSA forces on the ground with special forces, tanks, artillery and airpower with the aim of removing terrorist organizations from the northern border region.

A total area of 900 square kilometers (347 miles) has been cleansed of terrorists, Turkish General Staff said in a statement Monday.

Over 760 Daesh targets have been struck since the start of the operation, the statement added.
