ATHENS (AA) – Eight migrants are still missing from a boat that went adrift near Delos island in the Aegean Sea and later sank early Sunday, according to Greek authorities.

Initially, the number of the missing was announced as four but rescue teams said eight migrants, including some minors, were still missing on Monday.

Another 108 refugees that were on the same boat were rescued and six individuals were arrested for human trafficking.

A search and rescue operation is still underway for the eight missing passengers.

The boat was sailing southwest of Delos Island in the Aegean Sea when it began taking water in and drifted away due to strong winds.

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, it was flooded later. The boat was towed to the islet of Agios Georgios, west of Mykonos harbor.

According to authorities, 21 children, 24 women, and 63 men were rescued from the drifting boat, with none of the migrants wearing a life jacket.
