8 terrorists neutralized in southeastern Turkey

ANKARA (AA) - Security forces neutralized at least eight terrorists in southeastern Turkey, the interior minister said Wednesday.

At least "eight terrorist were killed" in Hakkari province, Suleyman Soylu said on Twitter.

Soylu said the eight terrorists were responsible for the killing of two innocent civilians in Hakkari.

The terrorists' affiliation was not mentioned, but the PKK terror group has been active in the region.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the US and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
