MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AA) - One of 276 girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram terro group at a public school in Nigeria in northeast Chibok returned home on Saturday.

Ruth Pogu surrendered to counter-terrorism forces with the man she was married to in Boko Haram's custody at a town in Northeast Borno State, according to State Governor Babagana Zulum.

"I am excited both as the governor and father of all sons and daughters in the state to receive and hand over Ruth to her parents," he said at the Maiduguri Government House.

Pogu, who now has two children, surrendered to military troops on July 28, the governor's spokesman, Isa Gusau, clarified in a statement.

The girls were kidnapped at the Government Secondary School, Chibok on April 14, 2014.

Fifty-seven girls escaped days later while 105 have either been rescued or escaped, leaving 114 remaining.
