AC Milan beat AS Roma, move 1 point behind leaders Inter

ANKARA (AA) - AC Milan beat AS Roma 3-1 in Serie A week 20 match Thursday.

Milan got an early lead with a penalty goal by Olivier Giroud in the eighth minute at the San Siro Stadium.

Just after nine minutes, Junior Messias made it 2-0 for AC Milan.

Before the first half ended, Tammy Abraham took one back for Roma in the 40th minute.

Rick Karsdorp was shown a second yellow card and was sent off by the referee in the 74th minute.

Milan's Rafael Leao increased the goal gap between the sides to two again by making it 3-1 in the 80th minute.

Just before the match ended, Gianluca Mancini was shown a red card and Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a penalty shot in the 94th minute.

AC Milan is in second spot with 45 points, just one point behind leaders Inter Milan, while AS Roma is seventh with 32 points in the Serie A table.
