Aid convoy slams attack on Anadolu Agency’s Gaza office

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Essam Yousef, head of the “Miles of Smiles” solidarity convoy, has condemned Israel’s Saturday attack on Anadolu Agency's office in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The convoy, which includes pro-Palestine activists from all over the world, arrived in Gaza on Friday via the Rafah land crossing with Egypt.

“Israel is targeting everyone who stands with the Palestinians; everyone who tries to help them,” Yusuf told Anadolu Agency on Monday.

The agency’s Gaza office was targeted, he said, “because it was reporting the facts without distortion”.

Saturday’s attack “was tantamount to an attack on Turkey and its people”, Yusuf added, calling on Ankara to “take the necessary measures for holding Israel accountable for its crimes”.

On Saturday, Israeli fighter jets totally destroyed the seven-story building in Gaza City in which the agency’s office is located.
