Al Jazeera Balkans Film Festival to start in September

SARAJEVO (AA) - The second Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival will be held with the slogan of 'Change' in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo between Sept. 20-24.

Speaking at a news conference, Tarik Dodic, managing director of Al Jazeera Balkans, said they will maintain the quality they achieved last year.

Twenty-three documentaries will be screened at the festival. Of them, 12 will compete for three awards.

Festival director Edhem Foco said the documentary films can be adapted for television and most of them are female-centric.

The festival aims to support documentaries and authors addressing universal humanitarian values and social issues.

Anadolu Agency is the Global Communications Partner of the festival.
