Anadolu Agency graduates visit Iran Centre in Ankara

ANKARA (AA) - The graduates of Anadolu Agency’s journalist trainee program on Friday visited the Center for Iranian Studies in Ankara (IRAM), where they were briefed about Iran’s economy, social life and diplomacy.

Alptekin Cihangir Isbilir, head of news academy, said Anadolu Agency is a global brand, operating in 13 different languages, seeking to be the voice of the oppressed, the Muslim world and the humanity worldwide.

Isbilir said the participants of the news academy, who were graduated from the Young Talent Development Program, are sent to various countries so that they learn languages and become expert of the regions.

The program participants were given theoretical and practical training, he said and added: “We try to establish ties, by visiting IRAM and other such similar institutes. We want to promote analysts, experts and journalists… Turkey needs that.”

“Another revolutionary action of Anadolu Agency is its serious investment in the activities of the news academy and human sources,” he said.

Hakki Uygur, director of the IRAM, said the institution was established four years ago with a view to develop understanding about Iran and the Middle East.

Iran-related studies were of huge importance for Turkey and the Middle East, he stressed and said the institute was imparting two-dimensional training, including must-know topics on Iran and teaching of Persian language.

Uygur said they informed the participants about seminars on Iran’s culture, history and social life. He said in foreign media outlets the view on Iran was misleading. Therefore, the institute has tried to develop a balanced and factual perspective about Iran.
