Anadolu Agency to relate stories of successful students

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey is set to launch a new project to showcase students' achievements in technology, arts and sports, in an aim to set an example among other pupils.

The project "Stars of Turkey" will be a joint project between the country's National Education Ministry and Anadolu Agency.

A cooperation protocol was signed in the capital Ankara by Yusuf Buyuk, director general for secondary education, and Anadolu Agency Director General Senol Kazanci.

The project aims to boost the motivation of successful students and promote their stories to show others "whatever the conditions are, nothing is impossible if you do your best," Buyuk said in a speech during the signing ceremony.

Through the initiative, Anadolu Agency hopes to show other students the techniques and study pace of the Stars of Turkey, Kazanci said.

"We'll try to give our students and children the message, 'Your friends, elder brothers and sisters -- who are like you and have already passed the roads that you are about to pass -- have made such important achievements. If you want to, you can also be both succeed [academically] and be interested in sports and arts, like them'," he added.

The star pupils will meet other students in a school in 2020 which is also the 100th anniversary of Anadolu Agency.
