Anadolu Agency's diplomacy journalism program begins

32 media representatives from Algeria, Chad, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Tunisia, Jordan, Yemen attend 1st day of program

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s leading news provider Anadolu Agency's diplomacy journalism training program started on Monday for media personnel across the world.

The program accessible via video conference was organized in coordination with the state-run Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for 56 trainees from 13 countries.

At the launching ceremony, Anadolu Agency's News Academy Director Cihangir Isbilir said that the training program was based on a specialized curriculum in the field of diplomacy.

Mustafa Hasim Polat, the coordinator of TIKA’s training projects, said they continue to organize various training programs in cooperation with Anadolu Agency.

Some 32 media representatives from Algeria, Chad, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Tunisia, Jordan and Yemen attended the first day of the training.

Mehmet Ozturk, Anadolu Agency's foreign languages editor-in-chief; Halil Celik, deputy editor at Anadolu Agency's Middle East News; and Ibrahim Kilic, the deputy editor at the agency's Arabic News Department; gave lectures on Monday.

Haydar Karaalp, chief correspondent in Middle East News, and Esat Firat, a correspondent at the same department, will deliver their lectures on the second day.

The program will conclude Wednesday with a lecture by Ahmed Yusuf, Anadolu Agency's Qatar representative.
