ANKARA (AA) - The 2017 Ordinary General Board Meeting of Anadolu Agency was held in capital Ankara on Wednesday.

The activity and audit reports of the Board of Directors, balance sheets and profit-loss accounts were discussed at the meeting; information on the progress made by Anadolu Agency in 2017 was also provided to meeting participants at the agency’s assembly hall.

The members of Executive Board of Anadolu Agency, representatives of the Undersecretariat of Treasury, Anadolu Agency's Editor-in-Chief Metin Mutanoglu, Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya, other officials from Anadolu Agency and stakeholders attended the meeting.

Anadolu Agency Executive Board Deputy Chairman Saban Kizildag said Anadolu Agency had increased its content production by 8 percent in 2017 compared with 2016.

A total of 1.5 million content pieces were shared with users, Kizildag said, adding: "We have reached the highest level of content production in Anadolu Agency."

Anadolu Agency currently broadcasts in 13 languages, including Turkish, English, Arabic, Russian, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (BCS), Albanian, Persian, Macedonian, Indonesian and Spanish, he said.

About the structure of Anadolu Agency at home and abroad, Kiziltas said: "Anadolu Agency is operating in nearly 100 countries with 41 offices around the world. We sponsored 33 different events at home and abroad throughout 2017 and hosted three international conferences.

"We held a contest of the 3rd Istanbul Photo Awards. We also held exhibitions at United Nations Headquarters in the U.S. and Moscow with the winning photographs of the contest.

“Last year, as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, we organized 81 exhibitions at home and 70 exhibitions of photos of July 15 coup attempt abroad," he said.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup on July 15, 2016, that martyred 250 people and injured nearly 2,200 others.

Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
