Daily briefing on the latest developments around the world

ISTANBUL (AA) - Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments around the world.

Ukraine is making major gains in its counteroffensive, but Western allies should not underestimate Russia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned.

Stoltenberg pledged continued support to Ukraine but also noted that the alliance will remain cautious to avoid a wider war with Russia.

“NATO is not a party to the conflict. We will not be dragged into Putin's war,” Stoltenberg said at a joint news conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz after their meeting in Berlin.

US President Joe Biden said he is prepared to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the conflict in Ukraine but emphasized that the Russian leader has not demonstrated a willingness to discuss a negotiated end to the war.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin said that Russia will condemn any attempts to create a special tribunal to investigate its actions in Ukraine.

The remarks came a day after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed a "specialized court to try Russia's crimes" in Ukraine, where Moscow initiated a "special military operation" this February.

A suspected letter bomb was intercepted at the US Embassy in Madrid, the sixth confirmed by Spanish authorities over the past week, news agency EFE reported.

Slamming a new French resolution on what Paris calls "aggression” against Armenia, Azerbaijan called the move “another provocation by France against Azerbaijan.”
