ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments on the coronavirus pandemic and other news in Turkey and around the world.


- Coronavirus and other developments in Turkey

The number of COVID-19 jabs administered in Turkey exceeded 101 million, according to Health Ministry figures.

Over 51.23 million people have taken their first doses, while nearly 40 million are now fully vaccinated, official data showed.

More than 82.5% of the country's adult population has received at least one dose of a two-shot vaccine.

Turkey has also given third booster shots to over 9.37 million people.

The ministry also reported 23,562 new coronavirus cases and 214 more fatalities in the past 24 hours. Total cases stand at 6.03 million, while the nationwide death toll is 52,860.

Turkey's policy of providing access to education, health and social opportunities to refugees is "very positive," according to the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) chief.

After 548 days of curbs to contain the spread of the virus, Denmark lifted all domestic restrictions, removing the categorization of the disease as a "critical threat to society."


- Other global developments

Pakistan rejected claims of Islamabad's involvement in the recent fall of Panjshir province to the Taliban in Afghanistan, terming them baseless allegations.

After months of political deadlock, the Lebanese president and prime minister-designate signed a decree to form a new government.

Germany will not tolerate xenophobia and hate against people with a migration background, according to President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Lindita Nikolla was elected new parliament speaker of Albania.
