ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments in Turkey, around the world and the coronavirus pandemic.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed bilateral ties and Afghanistan along with migration issues and regional matters in a phone call.

Turkey has administered more than 103 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since launching a mass immunization campaign in January. Nearly 52 million people have received their first vaccine dose while around 41 million are fully vaccinated.

Turkey’s ambassador to Qatar said his country and Qatar will coordinate on Afghanistan and the two were "consistently discussing humanitarian conditions and security and political developments" in the war-weary country.

A total of 12 people suspected of having links to the Daesh/ISIS terror group were arrested by Turkish authorities.

In the first eight months of 2021, the Turkish Coast Guard rescued 5,964 irregular migrants in the Aegean Sea who were illegally pushed back by Greece.

Excavators discovered a 3,500-year-old mosaic in central Turkey, and the piece now stands as the world's oldest mosaic ever unearthed.

Istanbul is bracing for a four-day international kitchenware festival -- the International Zuchex Home and Kitchenwares Fair -- with an expected turnover of $1 billion.

The UN Syria Commission of Inquiry said in a report that the country was not fit for the safe and dignified return of refugees and an upsurge in fighting and return to violence were causes for alarm.

The US renewed its call for dialogue with North Korea and said Washington had no hostile intent toward Pyongyang.

At least 11 people were killed, including soldiers and civilians, and several others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a tea shop in Mogadishu, Somalia.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred off the southern coast of Japan’s Tokaido region.

The number of centenarians in Japan rose to a record 86,510 for the first time with women making up at least 88.4% of them.
