LONDON (AA) - President and CEO of Anadolu Serdar Karagoz attended on Thursday an international conference gathering 36 of the world’s leading news providers in London.

Hosted by Reuters, the members discussed multiple issues ranging from common problems they face to the latest innovations in the media sector.

The participants exchanged information on artificial intelligence, new marketing approaches and technological innovations, as well as economic hurdles plaguing the industry.

Karagoz underscored the significance of collaboration in combating the challenges faced by media entities worldwide.

He highlighted Anadolu's partnerships with numerous news agencies, culminating in a landmark agreement with Reuters, poised to revolutionize the dissemination of video content.

Of notable concern during the discourse was the escalatingGaza conflict, which has seen journalists becoming targets of violence. Karagoz lamented the loss of lives within the journalistic fraternity.

"The Israel and Gaza conflict was particularly prominent. We have seen that many news agencies' correspondents have been targeted in Israeli attacks, with injuries and even casualties reported, including a correspondent from Reuters," he said.

"It's clear that these incidents are generating a reaction against Israel, which we have witnessed together in these meetings. As you know, unfortunately, we also lost one of our cameramen in Israeli attacks," he added.

Karagoz reiterated the agency's commitment to spread awareness of the perils faced by media personnel in conflict zones.

The meeting also discussed the economic viability of news agencies and their roles in shaping global political narratives.

Highlighting Anadolu's expanding influence, Karagoz said the partnership with Reuters is a pivotal step towards achieving broader reach.

"Particularly in the field of video content, we are one of the world's leading news agencies in terms of producing video content. Through Reuters' distribution network, Anadolu content will be distributed worldwide. We have established and signed the infrastructure of this agreement here," he said.

Anadolu on Wednesday signed an agreement with Reuters affiliate Screenocean on video content distribution. The deal was signed in London between Anadolu's Marketing and Business Development Director Erman Yuksel and Screenocean Managing Director Ali Blake.
