ANKARA (AA) –Turkey’s Anadolu Efes beat Spain's Barcelona Lassa 75-68 late Wednesday, taking a 1-0 lead in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague basketball playoffs.
The Istanbul-based club’s Serbian guard, Vasilije Micic, was the main contributor for his team, scoring 21 points against Barcelona Lassa at the Sinan Erdem Dome.
Micic also produced seven assists.
Barcelona Lassa's top scorer was Croatian center Ante Tomic, who racked up 14 points and also took four rebounds.
The second game of the series will be held on Friday in Istanbul, and whoever has three wins in total will go to the EuroLeague Final Four.
The winners of the playoffs will advance to the Final Four phase on May 17-19 at Fernando Buesa Arena in the Spanish city of Vitoria-Gasteiz in single-elimination matchups.
