Argentina's annual consumer inflation climbs to 78.5%
7% monthly inflation rate in August shows some easing from 7.4% in July

ANKARA (AA) - Consumer inflation in Argentina climbed to 78.5% in August, according to data released Wednesday by the national statistics agency, INDEC.
The annual gain is an uptick from the July figure of a 71% increase, while consumer prices in June had risen 64% year-on-year.
Consumer inflation rose 7% in August, compared to the previous month.
The monthly figure showed some easing from July when prices increased 7.4%.
The gain in July was the highest monthly inflation rate for the Latin American country in two decades.
