ANKARA (AA) - Armenian foreign minister mistakenly shared a photograph of Armenian militia on Twitter which had collaborated with the Nazis, as he was commemorating the Armenian soldiers who held duty in the Soviet army.

Zohrab Mnatsaganyan was remembering May 9 Victory Day of Armenia and deleted the Tweet after realizing his mistake.

"Tribute & respect to my compatriots, who made an enormous contribution to Victory - over 500K conscripts in Soviet Army, over 300K losses, 106 Heroes of Soviet Union, 6 Armenian divisions, over 60 Generals and 4 Marshals of Soviet Army!" Mnatsaganyan said in the Tweet.

It was revealed that one of the photographs he added to the Tweet was of Armenian militia who participated with German mountain forces and fought against Soviet army.

In the photograph, Armenian militia can be seen making a traditional dance move in the presence of German officers.

After deleting the Tweet, Mnatsaganyan shared other photographs commemorating the Victory Day and Armenian soldiers in Soviet army.
