Arsenal midfielder Smith Rowe set for his England debut

21-year-old has his 1st call to English national team; Three Lions to face Albania, San Marino in European quals

ANKARA (AA) - Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe was called to the English National Football Team for the first time on Monday.

"Congratulations to Emile Smith Rowe, who has received his first call up to the Three Lions squad!" England said on Twitter.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is currently in the England camp ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup European qualifiers.

He previously played for the England U21 team.

England, who have 20 points in eight matches to lead Group I, will take on Albania on Friday in London and then head to San Marino on Nov. 15 to complete the World Cup qualifying group.

Smith Rowe scored five goals in 13 appearances for Arsenal this season.

He helped the Gunners win the 2020 FA Community Shield.
