Asian stock markets close Monday mixed

Half of major Asian indices end with gains, others see losses

ISTANBUL (AA) - Asian stock markets ended with mixed figures on Monday.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, dropped 11.02 points, or 0.35%, to 3,130.16.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange plunged 31.23 points, or 0.11%, to 27,619.61.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, fell 226.39 points, or 1.16%, to 19,225.70.

China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange was up by 13.43 points, or 0.42%, to close at 3,199.91.

The Singapore index rose 9.79 points, or 0.31%, to finish at 3,215.48.

The Indian Sensex benchmark gained 442.65 points, or 0.75%, to end the day at 59,245.98.
