Asian stock markets close Monday on positive note

ISTANBUL (AA) - Asian stock markets ended the first transaction day of the week in the green territory.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, increased 18.88 points, or 0.6%, to reach 3,147.77.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange soared 327.36 points, or 1.16%, to close at 28,542.11.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, was up 507.63 points, or 2.69%, to 19,362.25.

China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange was up by 26.47 points, or 0.82%, to close at 3,262.05.

The Indian Sensex benchmark gained 321.99 points, or 0.54%, to end the day at 60,115.13.

The Singapore index rose 11.77 points, or 0.36%, to finish at 3,274.72.
