Asian stocks close week with gains

ANKARA (AA) – All major Asian indexes closed the last transaction day of the week with gains on Friday.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, rose 0.42% to 3,431.55 points as of 1030GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 jumped 1.2% to close at 28,493.47 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, gained 0.46% to 20,438.81 points.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange was also up 0.60% to close at 3,338.15.

India's Sensex benchmark added 0.06% to close at 60,431 points.

The Singapore index rose 0.25% to end the day at 3,302.66 points.

Singapore’s economy grew 0.1% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, missing market estimates of 0.6% and slowing down from a 2.1% growth in the previous period, a flash reading showed on Friday.
