HANOI (AA) - The death toll for Vietnam's latest wave of flooding has reached 24 people, authorities reported Friday.

The National Committee for Search and Rescue reported 10 people dead in Binh Dinh, seven in Quang Nam, six in Quang Ngai and one in Gia Lai provinces since flooding began November 29.

Another two people are reported missing.

While floodwater in most affected areas is starting to recede, authorities have warned of landslides, reported the VN Express news site.

Around 500 millimeters (1.64 feet) of rain has fallen on the region in the past three days, reported the search and rescue committee.

Central Vietnam has been hit by three serious episodes of flooding since October, affecting most provinces in the region.

At least 75 have been killed, according to government figures.
