Sydney-based firm seeks $665,000 over Twitter's failure to pay its invoices

ANKARA (AA) – An Australian firm has sued Twitter in a US court seeking about Australian $1 million ($665,000) over alleged unpaid bills for work done in four countries, Australian media reported on Monday.

Citing the court record, ABC News reported that Sydney-based Facilitate Corp filed the suit on June 19 in the district court for the Northern District of California claiming a breach of contract over Twitter's failure to pay its invoices.

From 2022 through early 2023, according to the company, it installed sensors in Twitter's offices in London and Dublin, completed an office fit-out in Singapore, and cleared an office in Sydney. Twitter owed the company about $386,500, $607,000 and $61,300, respectively for those works, it added.

Twitter's owner Elon Musk last month said that if the social media giant fails to obey local laws, then access to the platform in that place can be cut off.

Last month, Australia sent a legal notice to Twitter, demanding an explanation about what the social media giant is doing to prevent an “already inexcusably high” level of online abuse.
