Australian Grand Prix set to return after 2-year hiatus due to COVID-19

Charles Leclerc currently leads driver standings with 45 points

ANKARA (AA) - Formula 1 is ready to resume in Australia following a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Australian Grand Prix will take place at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, Victoria.

The third round of the year will be held on a 5.2-kilometer (3.2-mile) track with 58 laps.

The qualifying laps will begin on Saturday at 0600GMT, with the race itself set for 0500GMT on Sunday.

Ferrari's Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc won the Formula One season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, second race of the season.
