JERUSALEM (AA) – Bahraini Ambassador to Israel, Khaled al-Jalahmah, is set to arrive in Tel Aviv on Tuesday to assume his duties as his country's first ambassador to Israel, according to local media on Monday.
Al-Jalahmah will touch down at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv on Tuesday aboard a flight of Bahrain flag carrier, Gulf Air, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation network reported.
Bahrain officially appointed al-Jalahmah for the post in March and he took the legal oath before King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa on June 29.
Al-Jalahmah served as the Gulf state’s deputy ambassador to the US along with other high posts within the Bahraini diplomatic service.
Upon his arrival, he will become the fourth Arab ambassador to Israel after the envoys of Egypt, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On Sept. 15, 2020, Israel established formal relations with the UAE and Bahrain as part of a US-brokered agreement, a move followed by Sudan and Morocco.
