Blast targets armored police vehicle in SE Turkey

SANLIURFA, Turkey (AA) – An explosion targeted an armored police vehicle as it passed by in southeastern Turkey's Sanliurfa city on Sunday evening, according to a police source.

Preliminary reports suggest injuries have taken place.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said the blast took place in the city’s Viransehir district.

Police and ambulances have been sent to the scene.
