Blockaded Gaza reports 195 more coronavirus cases

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Health Ministry in the Israeli-blockaded Gaza on Thursday reported 195 new coronavirus cases and a death of a six-month-old child from the virus.

Since March, the number of infections in Gaza has risen to 1,551, including 10 deaths and 114 recoveries.

"The number of active cases in Gaza rose to 1,427,” the ministry said, calling on residents to abide by health protocols to help stem the virus' spread in the strip.

The Hamas-led government imposed a lockdown in Gaza on Aug. 24 to help curb the outbreak in the blockaded enclave.
