BAGHDAD, (AA) – At least four people were killed and 13 others injured in two bombings in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday, according to local security sources.
An explosive device went off at a marketplace in eastern Baghdad, killing two people and injuring seven others, an Interior Ministry source told Anadolu Agency.
Another bomb blast killed two people and wounded six others in south-western Baghdad, according to another Interior Ministry source.
Both sources spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions to speaking to media.
There has been no claim of responsibility for Monday’s attacks.
Earlier today, at least 15 people were killed and 33 others in a suicide bombing in al-Khalis in north-eastern Iraq.
In another development, a spokesman for Baghdad Operations Command, Saad Maan, said in a statement that two suicide belts had been seized by Iraqi forces in al-Bunook district, north of Baghdad.
Iraq has suffered a devastating security vacuum since mid-2014, when Daesh captured Mosul and overran large swathes of territory in the northern and western parts of the country.
