Borsa Istanbul down at Friday's open

ANKARA (AA) -Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,424.38 points on Friday, down 0.05%, or 1.18 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.72% to end Thursday at 2,425.56 points, with a daily trading volume of over 22.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 17.3100 as of 10.06 a.m. local time (0706GMT), a gain of 0.2%.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 17.5380, while a British pound traded for 20.2408 Turkish liras, down 0.1%.

The price of Brent crude oil was at $104.5 per barrel.

Borsa Istanbul is open for half-day trading on Friday before going into a break due to the Eid al-Adha holiday (Feast of the Sacrifice).
