Borsa Istanbul opens at over 4,700 points on Wednesday

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 4,702.03 points on Wednesday, up 0.97%, or 45.30 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1.90% on Tuesday to a record close of 4,657.00 points, with a daily trading volume of 125 billion liras ($6.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6081 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate was at 18.3138, and a British pound traded for 22.0994 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $93.14 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,776.80.
