Borsa Istanbul opens Friday on high note

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 4,141.02 points on Friday, rising 0.87%, or 35.56 points from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 0.82% to an all-time high close of 4,105.46 points, with a daily trading volume of 84 billion liras ($4.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 18.6076 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira parity 18.1984, while a British pound traded for 20.8806 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $96.84 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,649.50.
